SOTF MMA Vengeance Mistress Fight Shorts Review
I am a huge fan of how these shorts look, a lot of SOTF gear has some Asian inspired design. As you can see with these almost Mexican inspired shorts, they have started to expand their design style. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the compliment I get at the gym wearing these. The design uses sublimation printing which means the slick graphics won’t peel or wear off like regular printing. The shorts are made with 100% microfiber fabric material and are super lightweight. These shorts have stretch material throughout the crotch and inner thigh area to help not impede on your movement. They run closer to mid thigh and also have slits on the side for more flexibility. Like many MMA shorts they also use T3 stitching to increase durability.
These shorts are thinner than some of the MMA shorts I have seen. SOTF shorts come in about 5 sizes(M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL). I typically wear a 32″ waist so I need to get a size larger than I normally would. I was pretty worried with the sizing chart but once I put them on, I was blown away how well they fit me. The shorts offer a hook & loop closure system which is very common on MMA shorts. The shorts do a have an inner drawstring but I never found myself using it as the hook & loop was more than enough to get a nice fit.
I really did my best to put these shorts through the paces and as many different fighting styles as possible. These shorts work extremely well for striking! They are super lightweight and flexible. I use these in my Boxing/Muay Thai sparring and heavy bag classes. The shorts never impeded on my range of movements when striking. While I did roll plenty of rounds in these shorts, the thin material always had me worried if I need to use them of a kimora defense.
All scoring is judged on a 10-must scoring system that I make up as I go.
Overall, these fight shorts look really good and have a nice fit. For the money, it is really hard to find other brands that compare in this price range. I’d say overall I like these shorts for general training and striking. These shorts work well with any of my regular workouts, boxing, and kickboxing. If you are looking to bolster your fight attire with a decent pair of striking shorts, you can do much worse than these.
