As a long time student of MMA from a fan and participation level, I have found my thoughts on fights to be extremely useful to friends and coworkers. So yeah, I am a bid deal. Accolades aside, let's jump into UFC 201.

Main Card

Robbie "Ruthless" Lawler vs Tyron Woodely

What a journey Ruthless has been on. It is truely amazing after years as a journeyman, Robbie climbed to the top of the welterweight mountain and stayed there for two hard title defenses.

Woodley on the other hand has been on the side lines for for a year and a half. Not awesome. He has had a very easy road to this title fight with his biggest win being a weird fluke injury. Yes, he was doing well prior to that but 7 minutes isn't enough for me. He is very explosive but the end of the day, Ruthless will weather the early storm, landing his own, and finish in the champion rounds.

Prediction: Lawler by TKO 4th round

Rose Namajunas vs Karolina Kowalkiewicv

After Holly losing last week, could this be the start of the European women's rule on WMMA? Possibly. Karolina is a legit striker with some solid take down defense. Rose on the other hand has always been a very mental fighter. Rose seemed in a very good place in the UFC embedded this week in comparision to previous fights. That spells Karolina's doom as Rose will be too composed and use her full arsenal of attacks and hopefuly get the finish in another exciting way.

Prediction: Rose by TKO 2nd round

Matt "the Immortal" Brown vs Jake Ellenberger

So Jake is 1-5 in his last 6. This will be his swan song before he goes to Bellator or maybe One FC. While Jake could grind this out, I see Matt being a savage and tearing through him. Best luck out of the UFC to Jake.

Predictions: Brown by TKO 1st round

Fransico Rivera vs Erik "El Goyito" Perez

This is a tough one to call. Both are mid tier 135lbers. Rivera should have the power and Perez is more well rounded on paper. I am leaning towards the fighter with more ways to win and a better team.

Predictions: Perez by decision

Ian "Uncle Creepy" Mcall vs Justin Scoggins

I was very excited about this fight but Scoggins had to withdraw due to weight cut issues.

Predictions: Sad Pandas
